Till the conclusion of the royal bath, nearly 2,000 seers of 13 'akhadas' (sects) had taken a dip in the Ganga at Har Ki Pairi ghat which was reserved exclusively for them, officials said.

The number of devotees who took a holy dip, though, was almost one-third of the second Shahi Snan on April 12, when over 35 lakh pilgrims had gathered in Haridwar.
Kumbh Mela IG Sanjay Gunjyal said, "We are unlikely to take strict action due to the huge gathering. A stampede-like situation can occur if we try to apply force."
