The High Court on Friday sought CBI’s view on a petition filed by former DGP Siby Mathews,
ISRO Case: Siby Mathews moves HC against 60 days time limit imposed on anticipatory bail granted to him
In his plea, Mathews contended that the time limit imposed on the pre-arrest bail granted to him ought to be set aside, as it was in stark violation of the law settled by the Constitution Bench of SC.
Siby Mathews was booked for criminal conspiracy, kidnapping and fabrication of evidence in connection with arrest and detention of ex-ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan in the 1994 espionage case.
On Friday, the court instructed the CBI to produce the document during the next hearing on July 26.
Later in 1996, the CBI concluded that the case was fabricated and that resulted in discharge of all accused.
Besides Mathews' anticipatory bail plea, ex-scientist Nambi Narayanan's application to be impleaded in the matter was also listed before the district court.

The CBI, in its probe back then, had held that the then top police officials in Kerala were responsible for Nambi Narayanan's illegal arrest.
