The CBI has interrogated Pheney Balakrishnan, the lawyer of the victim in the solar scam case.
The CBI on Friday recorded the statement of Ernakulam MP Hibi Eden in connection with a sexual abuse allegation filed by the solar scam accused.
The two teams from the CBI led by inspector Nibul Sankar along with the woman complainant came to the Cliff House based on the allegations of sexual exploitation.
The CBI team accompanied by the complainant conducted searches at two rooms in the Nila block of the hostel, where Congress MP Hibi Eden had stayed when he was a legislator.
The statement further read the lower court’s verdict was not logical and that it’s not mandatory to get justice from the lower courts as was noticed in several previous litigations.
Chandy himself had testified before the court in 2019 that the allegation against him was baseless and had created an image before the public that he was corrupt.
The cabinet decided to seek prior permission from the Governor to conduct the probe.
The Congress, which has backed the former chief minister in the past also over the same issue, blamed the LDF government of chief minister P Vijayan for launching political vendetta.
