Many parts of the valley, including the summer capital, received fresh snowfall Saturday morning.
In view of the continued closure of Valley’s surface and air link with rest of the country, the houseboats and hotels have opened their properties for the stranded passengers.
Snow clearance operations began at the airport in the morning and the runway was made operational later in the afternoon, the officials said.
Operations will resume only after the weather improves, they added.
The weather Office here has said moderate to heavy snowfall, with isolated very heavy snowfall, was most likely to take place over two days.
Officials said the resumption of flight operations at the airport on Monday would depend on the weather.
Sanjay Raina posted three pictures on Twitter on Thursday morning showing passengers standing extremely close to each other during a security check at the airport.
The trio were later handed over to nearby Police Station Humhama for further investigation.
