Recently, senior advocate Dushyant Dave said that the CJI should not have the power to assign and list cases and a fully automated system for allocation be put in place in the top court.
Justice Rao, who was speaking at his farewell function organised by the Supreme Court Bar Association, said judging a case is a completely different art and it takes time to get used to it.
The announcement from the CJI came before the commencement of proceedings in the top court for the day.
The senior lawyer said that the Supreme Court has come to "such levels where the Judges are afraid of the Bar" and added that "judges come and go" but highlighted the bar remain constant.
