A migrant worker in Tamil Nadu's Tambaram was arrested by cops for allegedly spreading a fake video. The accused has been identified as Manoj Yadav, 43, a migrant worker from Jharkhand. In the video, Manoj claimed he and his friends were being beaten by locals and harassed at their workplace.
The State Public Health Laboratory analysis shows that the increase in fever cases in the state is linked to Influenza subtype A(H3N2) virus and other subtypes. The analysis is in line with the findings in other parts of the country. Usually, the fever cases come down in January.

Four people died and nine others were injured after a crane collapsed during a temple festival at the Draupadi Amman temple in Arakkonam. The horrifying incident was captured on camera, and the video showed people in a state of frenzy as the crane suddenly collapsed. More than 1,500 devotees, mostly from the village and neighbouring hamlets, were present. The cyclonic storm 'Mandous', which crossed the coast near Mahabalipuram in the wee hours of Saturday, has moved completely inland and weakened into a deep depression over north Tamil Nadu. Cyclone Mandous, currently present over southwest Bay of Bengal, moved west-northwestwards with a speed of 13 kmph in the past 6 hrs. "Mandous is likely to weaken into a cyclonic storm in the following three hours," Chennai Meteorological Centre said in a statement.
