One body was recovered late Thursday night from the banks of the Alaknanda at Helang between Joshimath and Pipalkoti, Chamoli district police said.
As operations entered the 10th day, identifying bodies and body parts is becoming the challenge.
A total of 11 bodies have been recovered from the Tapovan tunnel out of which two were recovered on Tuesday.
We hope to find bodies so that the families can perform the last rites at least),” an official closely monitoring the situation told TNIE.
The bodies were recovered this morning from the Adit tunnel at the NTPC's Tapovan-Vishnugad project site, Chamoli District Magistrate, Swati S Bhadauria, said.
These are the first bodies to be recovered from the site where muck-clearing and drilling operations have been underway on a war-footing since last Sunday.

The women involved in the rescue and relief operations at Chamoli where the flashfloods wreaked havoc, are persevering to help bring hope back to the state.
The rescue operations were suspended temporarily only to resume after two hours at around 4 pm.
A warning was issued to evacuate the rescue spot and leave for high grounds just in case another flash flood comes.
As the continuous flow of slush and silt remains a major obstacle between the rescuers and those trapped inside the tunnel, a boring operation by a huge machine is being undertaken.
The rescue teams have so far progressed to 80 metres inside the tunnel and have to make their way through tonnes of debris for at least 100 metres more to reach those trapped inside.
Measures like drilling to take oxygen to those trapped inside the tunnel are being contemplated, project consultant A K Shrivastava said at the site in Tapovan.
Kedarnath MLA Manoj Rawat said excavators and Pokland machines should be brought in to speed up the process.
