As the State is scheduled to go to elections in March or April next year, Lokesh’s yatra is likely to be completed at the earliest.
According to TDP sources, Nara Lokesh, TDP general secretary, will soon re-launch his Yuva Galam Padayatra, while Naidu’s wife Bhuvaneswari will continue her Nijam Gelavai Yatra.
The decision was conveyed to Telangana TDP president Kasani Gnaneswar when the latter met former Chief Minister and TDP supremo N Chandrababau Naidu at the Rajamahendravaram prison.
Bhuvaneswari’s tour is ostensibly for consoling the families of those who had allegedly died of shock after her husband Chandrababu Naidu’s arrest.
He announced that MLA and actor Nandamuri Balakrishna will campaign for the TDP in Telangana.
Both Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh have been named as accused by the CID in this case. Lokesh has been identified as A14 in the case.
PAC Chairman Payyavula Keshav said that all the 42 centres under the skill development project have certified that all the necessary equipment and infrastructure are available.
Besides constructing schools and colleges, the government is also setting up hostels to take care of the education of thousands of students.
Lokesh strongly objected to the arrest of the TDP leaders in various parts of the State, who were on their way to the temples to pray for divine intervention for the release of Naidu.
Chandrababu Naidu is currently lodged in a jail in Rajamahendravaram after being remanded to judicial custody by a court last Sunday for his alleged involvement in a multi-crore corruption scam.
Naidu is currently in judicial remand for his alleged role in this scam and has filed two petitions in the High Court which is scheduled to hear the matter on September 19.
More than 200 police officials were deployed in all the problematic locations under Penamaluru station limits and also in the city and prevented agitations against the State government.
A prolonged stay in jail would demoralise the party, which has no leader of stature to take over from Naidu. The options before the TDP are limited. Its only salvation may lie in the BJP.
Naidu was remanded to 14 days judicial custody in the AP State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) scam.
Naidu questioned the police officials as to how he could be arrested without any information regarding his involvement in the case.
Nara Lokesh said 27 welfare schemes implemented for the welfare of Dalits by the previous TDP regime, were wound up.
Speaking to mediapersons on Saturday, the Civil Supplies Minister said red gram was not distributed through PDS from 2014 to 2016 during the previous TDP regime.
Sajjala said the YSRC questioned the logic behind awarding the contract of constructing a temporary Secretariat building and State Assembly to L&T and Shapoorji Pallonji for an abnormally high price.
Addressing the TDP's Zone-2 meeting near Kakinada on Saturday, Naidu hit back at the YSRC, saying the ruling party had been making baseless allegations against him as the elections are due next year.
Observing that the Polavaram project was pushed into crisis by Jagan, Lokesh blamed the negligence of the YSRC government for the damage to the diaphragm wall and the guide bund.
