India recorded 6,050 covid cases, 13% higher than the 5,335 cases on April 6. Daily cases have crossed the 6,000 mark for the first time since September 16, 2022. The number of active cases stands at 28,303, a jump of nearly 2716 cases.

Are Indians really unhappy? On happiness index, Pak, war-hit Ukraine fare better than India

In a list of 146 countries, India has ranked 125, in the World Happiness report released on March 20, 2023. The Report revealed that Indians are unhappier than people in even war-torn countries Ukraine and Russia. Though India has improved from its previous year's ranking of 136, it still lags behind Pakistan, which is facing the worst-ever economic crisis.

After UK, pro-Khalistan supporters attack Indian Consulate in San Francisco

Raising pro-Khalistan slogans, the protesters broke open the makeshift security barriers raised by the city police. The cities of Mariupol and Sevastopol were largely destroyed in the year-long war between Russia and Ukraine. He was seen driving a car in Sevastopol, while he traveled to Mariupol in a helicopter.

Two IAF fighter jets crash in Madhya Pradesh, one pilot killed

Two IAF fighter planes, the Sukhoi and the Mirage crashed in the Morena dist of Madhya Pradesh. The two aircraft had taken off from the Gwalior air base, where an exercise was going on. The IAF court of inquiry is on to establish whether there was a mid-air collision or not. The Su-30 had 2 pilots while Mirage 2000 had one pilot during the crash. Initial reports suggest 2 pilots are safe, while an IAF helicopter is expected to reach the location of the 3rd pilot soon.

India abstained on a draft resolution at the UNSC condemning Russia’s “illegal referenda” and annexation of four Ukrainian territories. The 15-nation UNSC had voted on the draft resolution tabled by the US and Albania. The resolution failed to get adopted as Russia vetoed it.
