Cops get time till February 1 to report on lyricist Javed Akhtar's defamation complaint against Kangana Ranaut
Akhtar had in November, 2020 filed a criminal complaint against Ranaut before the Andheri Metropolitan Magistrate, for allegedly making defamatory comments against him in television interviews
The issue pertains to alleged derogatory remarks made by Swamy and other leaders against former Chief Minister Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.
The court quashed the cases from a batch of 12 criminal defamation cases initiated by the AIADMK government against Stalin.
Siddiqui has also urged Akshay Kumar to withdraw the notice, failing which he would initiate "appropriate legal proceedings" against the actor.
