Bengal bypolls: Mamata Banerjee wins Bhowanipore by-election with record margin

#TrinamoolCongress supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister #MamataBanerjee has won the Bhowanipore by-election by a margin of 58,832 votes. Earlier, the Election Commission has revealed that she was leading BJP's Priyanka Tibrewal by 52,017 votes after the sixteenth round of counting on Sunday morning Mamata broke her party's victory margin record of 49,936 votes in 2011 Assembly elections, the year she derailed LF's 34-year regime.

Assembly Elections 2021: Second phase of polls kick starts in West Bengal and Assam

Polling began at 7 am on Thursday for 30 constituencies, including the high-profile Nandigram seat, in the second phase of the #WestBengal assembly elections amid tight security, officials said. 'Co-Le-B' alliance still there, govt's Sabarimala stand clear, says Pinarayi Vijayan

The LDF has been banking on Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to retain power in the state which will be a first if it happens, but he insists that it is a collective effort. In a free-wheeling chat with TNIE, Pinarayi once again alleged that an unholy ‘Co-Le-B’ alliance exists in this election too. He also expects the LDF to win at least the same number of seats it had won last time.
