The first batch of 10 girl students joined the Sainik School, Kazhakootam on Wednesday. Seven of them are from Kerala and two hail from Bihar while one is from UP.

Over 1.87 crore students enrolled from pre-primary to class 12 in the 2019-20 academic session in West Bengal schools, and there were 2.32 lakh more girls, it said.
