The infant with the rare disorder, which has an incidence of affecting one in 10,500 to 13,700 newborns globally, was admitted in July.
"As a child, I used to ask my mother about the scars on my abdomen. When I grew up and had an idea about my life, I too decided to become a doctor, and thus finished my MBBS in 2021," he said.
It took note of immediate necessity of a donor to donate the liver to child in view of his precarious health condition and asked the parties to go through the legal process as contemplated.
Despite the surgery becoming complicated due to other issues with the child, the team successfully completed the treatment.
