A 19-year-old woman was allegedly gangraped by four men at a village in Hathras on September 14 last year.
While fixing November 25 to hear the issue of quantum of compensation, the bench said if the hearing is not concluded on that day, it will continue the exercise the next day as well.

Allahabad HC had taken suo motu cognizance of the incident, especially the inhuman and indecent cremation of the woman, and started monitoring the case as a whole after an order of the Supreme Court.

The court has sought the report within 15 days and said that it would consider transferring the proceedings out of Hathras for ensuring a free and fair trial in the case.
However, the family was a bit disappointed as the top court did not transfer the case out of Uttar Pradesh which they had been demanding right from the beginning.
The SIT was supposed to submit its report earlier on October 7, but following the directions of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Adityanath, the time given to them was extended by 10 days.
