India’s last living Sadhir dancer overjoyed by Padma Shri Award

Meet 85-year-old R Muthukannammal. She is the recipient of the #PadmaShri award this year – one of India’s highest civilian awards. #Muthukannammal is the last of the 32 Devadasis of the Viralimalai Temple, and the last living Sadhir dancer in the country. She has won several accolades like the Dakshina Chitra Virudhu, Kalamshu Art award etc.
