Parliamentary Panel seeks statutory backing for CBI

At a time when the UPA government at Centre is accused of intervening in CBI's functioning, a Parliamentary panel has suggested that a separate law must be brought to force or there should be an amendment in the present law for the investigating agency to give it more statutory backing.
