All you need to know about the Criminal Procedure (Identification) Bill, 2022

On April 7th Rajya Sabha passed the Criminal Procedure (Identification) Bill, 2022 which enables investigating officers to collect the biometric details of prisoners. The Bill was passed in the Lok Sabha on April 4. The Bill was passed in the Rajya Sabha by a voice-vote. The new bill replaces the Identification of Prisoners Act, of 1920.
