Hijab row: Tension spreads to other colleges in Karnataka, govt announces 3-day holiday

With the High Court hearing a batch of PILs questioning the order issued by the state government prescribing uniforms in college and school campuses claiming that wearing hijab is an essential religious practice as prescribed by the Quran, tension over the issue has spread to several colleges in #Karnataka. To avoid any further unrest among students over the hijab row, the Karnataka government has declared a holiday for all high schools and colleges across the state for the next three days.
