International Women's Day: Invest in financial knowledge

Women have this uncanny ability to wear many hats as a mother, daughter, sister, teacher, doctor, and lawyer among several other roles. There was a time when it was unthinkable for a woman to be in the boardrooms, but now, things have changed drastically. Many women are serving on the boards on their sheer merit. But even with so much progress, somewhere the majority of women are lagging behind in terms of having awareness about financial matters. According to a recent annual survey of working women across India by IndiaLends, nearly 67% of the respondents are dependent on the male members of the family to make financial decisions, while 90% of them are contributing to household expenses.
