MANILA: Disaster officials say more bodies have been recovered from flood waters and landslides in the northern Philippines. The discoveries raise the death toll from a storm to 35.

Civil Defense Administrator Benito Ramos says 25 fishermen remain missing, nearly all of them from one boat that sank in central Philippine waters.

Ramos said Thursday that among the bodies rescuers have recovered were those of two government mines bureau staffers and the two police officers with them.

The weather bureau says Tropical Storm Nock-ten already was outside Philippine territory early Thursday. It is heading to southern China with maximum winds of 59 miles (95 kilometers) per hour and gusts of up to 75 mph (120 kph).
