LONDON: A failed asylum seeker, who sought compensation for being banned from having sex with his girlfriend in prison, was awarded 750 million pounds (about $1.1 billion) in a baffling administrative blunder before being quickly corrected.

Rayden Kullem demanded the huge sum in compensation, claiming his human rights had been breached, The Sun reported Thursday.

Incredibly, he temporarily won his claim because of a mix-up.

A top judge then had to dismiss the "preposterous" claim at an urgent court hearing.

Kullem is in Hull Prison awaiting deportation to Zimbabwe at the end of his sentence but the hearing did not reveal why he was jailed.
