The two new airports would be Hanthawaddy international airport in central Bago region and Dawei international airport at Dawei sea-port in southern Tanintharyi region.

Of the two planned airports, the existing Dawei domestic airport will be upgraded to international level within three years at a cost of $4 million, Xinhua quoted officials of the civil aviation department as saying.

At present, besides three international airports, there are 29 regional airports in Myanmar.
