Iraqi officials have raised the death toll from attacks on police in the western Anbar province the previous night to 19.
A police officer said on Wednesday that the victims included three civilians. Earlier reports said eight policemen were killed.
The first attack took place when a suicide bomber rammed his explosive-laden car into a checkpoint at the entrance of the town of Rutba, killing five policemen.
Another suicide bomber drove his car into a nearby bypass where police were stationed, killing four policemen and three civilian truck drivers.
Clashes elsewhere in Anbar on Tuesday night killed seven policemen.
A medical official confirmed the casualty figures. Both officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to media.
No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attacks.
