Lankan Navy Arrests 26 TN, Puduchery Fishermen

Fishing has resumed in the Palk Bay and Palk Strait area after the conclusion of the periodic layoff.

Colombo: The Sri Lanka navy on Sunday arrested 26 Indian fishermen from Nagapattinam and Karaikal and detained three vessels for poaching in Sri Lankan waters. Earlier on June 2, 14 fishermen of Rameswaram were taken into custody for the same reason.

Fishing has resumed in the Palk Bay and Palk Strait area after the conclusion of the periodic layoff.
