Michel Temer sworn in as Brazil president

BRAZIL: Michel Temer will be sworn in as president of Brazil at 1900 GMT Wednesday after Dilma Rousseff was stripped of the post, the leader of the Senate said.

Senate president Renan Calheiros told the chamber that acting president Temer, 75, would be sworn in as full head of state after members convicted Rousseff of breaking state accounting laws at an impeachment trial.
