Saudi Arabia pardons 360 prisoners on first day of Ramadan

A committee comprising representatives from government offices considered the files and nominated prisoners for release.

RIYADH: Around 360 persons jailed in Saudi Arabia for various reasons were released on the first day of Ramadan.

A special committee comprising representatives from the governorates, prison departments and passport police considered the files of prisoners and nominated the prisoners for release, the Saudi Gazette reported.

An official said arrangements were being made to deport expatriate prisoners.
