NEW DELHI: A strong earthquake of magnitude 5.9 on the Richter Scale struck the island of Mindanao in the Philippines on Sunday morning, reports USGS.

It is reported that shakes were felt in Davao City, Butuan, Tagum, Bislig, Mati and other areas of the country.

There have been no immediate reports of damage or casualties, and no tsunami warning has been issued.
