KATHMANDU: An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale today jolted Dhading district of Nepal, officials said.

The tremors were also felt at Kathmandu, they added. However, there was no immediate report of any damage.

According to the National Seismological Centre (NSC), the epicentre of the quake was at Dhading district, 80 km west of Kathmandu.

The seismic event was recorded at 9:52 AM. The tremor was the aftershock of the April 25 Great Quake, NSC chief Lok Bijaya Adhikari said.

Earlier on Tuesday, a mild tremor measuring 3.8 on the Richter Scale was recorded in the same district.
