Post India's civil aviation downgrade by US, top industry leaders will take day-long class by global experts on Feb 2

Ministry of Civil Aviation said global aviation experts would hold sessions and cover next generation transportation systems.

NEW DELHI: Post downgrade of India's civil aviation sector by U.S Federation Aviation Administration (USFAA) in January 2014, top officials in government and private from India’s civil aviation sector will participate in a day-long session on February 2 under the US-India  Aviation Cooperation Programme.

Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University (RGNAU), India’s only civil aviation university built-up at the premises of the Indira Gandhi National Aviation Academy(IGRUA) at Rae Barelli in Uttar Pradesh will host the first executive development programme for top officials and CEOs and CFOs from India’s civil aviation sector.

Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) said global aviation experts would hold sessions and cover next generation transportation systems, airport planning,  air traffic flow management and the requirements in safety and security in aviation sector.

In an official statement issued by the MoCA said “the programme would be attended by CXO (CEOs and CFOs) level professionals from the industry and senior officials from the regulatory authorities”.

India’s civil aviation regulatories include Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA), Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) besides top level officials from different airlines and civil aviation industry officials.

“The programme will be delivered by highly-learned experts in the aviation sector. It will help senior professionals and keep them abreast with latest trends in the sector,” says Air Vice Marshal Nalin Tandon, vice chancellor of the RGNAU.

“The programme will fulfill  the objectives of the university by facilitating and promoting aviation studies and research,” he added.
