BENGALURU: Started as an export showroom for a multinational company in 1998, AA Living has since evolved into a sort of a design studio that marries the quirky with the essential. Rohina Anand Khira took over the design reins in 2009 and oversees an eclectic collection of floor art, cupcake soaps, quirky his-and-her pillow sets, vintage and classic  tea  time crockery, eco-friendly lamps, monogrammed towels and much more, each with a unique character.

Thanks to her intensive internships with global retail brands, Rohina has brought a whole new whiff of fresh and young creative ideas with global perspectives, yet keeping alive the classic design and traits of the brand. What has remained constant over the years is an uncompromising passion for quality, brilliant design, immaculate craftsmanship and lasting value.

“In everything we do, our philosophy is simple: We want to surround ourselves with products we love. We want to inspire creativity, ethical trade, as well as aesthetic beauty. This is more than a way of sourcing and selling products; it’s a way of life we  endorse,” says this young entrepreneur.

Since she took over the business, Rohina has designed the store’s website, new shopping bags, and has her own blog on Instagram where she experiments with creative product photography and DIY tutorials. She also dedicates her time to visual merchandising, designing and creating textiles.

Rohina’s vision is to merge creativity and quality and make it easily available to all those who want an imaginative home. She’s interior textiles, understanding the customer and then delivering creative beauty.

“I tend to stay away from large overwhelming prints, synthetic looking fabric, anything that is heavy on stones and sequins and loud contrasting combinations,” states this passionate designer.

The brand was listed as part of Top 10 stores in Asia by WGSN in 2009, and won the Best Linen award at the GoodHomes 2014 awards.
