BENGALURU: A 13-year-old girl died after an iron tool fell on her while she was playing at a BBMP park in Mahadevapura on Saturday. The negligence of a BBMP contractor is being blamed for the mishap. Police filed a case of negligence against BBMP officials too.

Police said the accident occurred around 5.30pm when Priya, an 8th standard student, had gone to the park with two friends. Some play equipment at the park were being renovated and iron tools were kept next to a slide. When she came near the slide, a tool fell on her head. Her friends called for help and residents rushed her to a private hospital where she was declared brought dead.
The park had no security guards and no caution signs were in place even though BBMP was installing play equipment inside. Further no precautionary measures were taken at the premises.
