Fire at Manipal Hospital in Bengaluru, 40 patients shifted

The fire broke out at around 9.45 am due to a short circuit on the first floor of the hospital.

BENGALURU: A fire broke out adjacent to the intensive care unit of the Malathi Manipal Hospital in Bengaluru which required some 40 patients to be shifted to safety Wednesday morning. 

The fire broke out at around 9.45 am due to a short circuit on the first floor of the hospital. Fire serve personnel rushed to the hospital and shifted the patients to another Manipal hospital on airport road. The fire was doused by four fire tenders. 

No casualties were reported. 

The CEO of Malathi Manipal Hospital, Dr Pramod Krishnan said, "There was a short circuit on the first floor of the hospital. Now it is under control and some of the patients will be shifted back to the floor."
