Chief Minister orders CID probe into fraud over land deals

BENGALURU: Conman Sachin Naik has once again landed behind bars for cheating several people on the pretext of providing lands.

Madiwala police on Monday arrested Naik, the owner of TGS real estate group and Dreams GK, who is accused of duping his customers of crores of rupees.
He was also arrested in December 2016 along with his wife and other officials and staff. Some of them were released from the jail after getting bail.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday ordered a CID probe to inquire about the allegations of fraud perpetuated by TGS Constructions, Dreamz GK/Infra and Gruha Kalyan company. Around 2,000 people are said to have been victims of fraud by these companies.
Naik is accused of running multiple hoax companies like Dreams GK, TGS real estate, Send my Gift, Daily pooja.com and his wife Disha Choudhary alias Esha Sumanth was appointed as CEO.

A senior police officer said that Naik collected crores of rupees from customers in advance and did not allot them flats. He was showing under construction site belonging to other builders in HSR layout, Bellanduru, Anekal and Electronics City to people, mainly NRIs. So far, eleven staff, including management officials have been arrested and the case will be handed over to CID.
Over 1,000 people gathered near Anand Rao Circle at 10 am on Tuesday to protest  against the alleged fraud committed by these firms in the name of land deals.  
The citizens met the Home Minister later in the evening, who assured of strict actions against the firm’s directors. He asked for a week’s time to see what best can be done. Victims of fraud have warned of intensifying stir.
