AMSTERDAM (THE NETHERLANDS): With the number of visas issued by The Netherlands to Indians increasing by 25% each year, Jet Airways has brought the picturesque country closer to Bengalureans by launching its first non-stop daily flight between the city and Amsterdam. This marks the third daily service of the airline between India and Amsterdam, the other two services already functioning from Mumbai and New Delhi. Jet Airways is the only airline from Bengaluru that offers a direct flight to Amsterdam.

While the service was formally launched on October 29, 2017 from Bengaluru, a media team was taken by Jet Airways recently to the country to showcase the relaxed travel experience and ambience of its Airbus A330 aircraft. The spacious cabin with ergonomically designed seats offers ample leg space throughout the flight while the Premiere class stands out for its lie-flat beds ensured to offer its elite travellers a comfortable sleep. The night wear and a pair of socks offered to passengers definitely made the journey a pampered experience for guests on board.

According to a spokesperson from Jet Airways, “This new service is particularly great for corporates and business travellers from Bengaluru who comprise nearly half of Jet Airways (9W) passengers. Earlier, they had to travel two or three hours from Bengaluru to Mumbai or Delhi plus spend the connection time for an onward flight to Amsterdam.”

The duration taken for the flight is 10 hours and 45 minutes. It departs from Bengaluru at 2.30 am and reaches Amsterdam at 8.30 am (local time). A typical one-way economy non-promotional fare is around `25,000. “The ticket cost will be around `1.5 lakhs for Premiere or Business class,” he said.Ever since its launch, the load factor has been around 85%, he added.

Explaining the added benefits of this new launch, an official release said, “Guests travelling via Amsterdam on connecting flights between Jet Airways and codeshare partners KLM and Delta will enjoy enhanced connectivity via codeshare services between Bengaluru and as many as 43 European destinations including London, Paris, Barcelona and Copenhagen among several others. The spokesman later told The New Indian Express at The Hague that its second non-stop flight to Singapore will be launched on March 15 to cater to the huge demand on this sector.
