Doctor, techie killed in separate accidents

BENGALURU: A 27-year-old doctor died on the spot when he crashed his bike into a road median on Airport flyover near Kodigehalli on Sunday. The deceased was dragged for about 200 metres due to the force of the collision.

The deceased, Mohammed Nishaad, a native of Kerala was residing in Adugodi along with his elder brother. He was working in a private hospital in Hosakote. He had recently bought a Rs13 lakh, Triumph bike.

A police officer from Hebbal traffic division said that the incident occurred around 6.45am when Nishaad, along with eight male friends, was going to Nandi Hills.

While passing the Kodigehalli gate flyover, Nishaad lost control over the bike and crashed into the road median. The bike hit five pot barricades installed for safety on the road median.

Nishaad’s friends informed the police that the speed of the bike was about 120 kmph when the accident happened which led to him sustaining serious injuries despite wearing a helmet. Further investigations are on.

‘Techie killed in a mishap’

In another incident, a 24-year-old software engineer died on the spot while his friend sustained injuries after a speeding car hit their bike in Mahadevapura on Sunday.

The deceased, Harish V, a resident of Marathalli was working in an MNC. The police said that the accident took place at AIC Square Road when Harish was riding his bike and his friend Pragadish was riding pillion.

They were headed home after work when a speeding Swift car hit their bike from the rear. Passersby rushed them to KIMS hospital where Harish was declared dead. His friend Pragadish was shifted to NIMHANS. K R Puram traffic police have arrested the car driver.
