CHENNAI: When bloggers Antara Pandit and Moina Memon met, they shared their stories about motherhood. Their common interests and dreams led them to launch InspirED Moms. “I have featured a lot of inspiring women on my blog, most of them are here, today, as speakers. Antara, was one of the many who was featured on the blog.
We felt that there was a common thread between us. That’s how InspirED Moms was born,” said Moina. The duo launched their first event in the city recently, which had speakers from all walks of life, sharing and inspiring participants.
InspirED Moms aims at making an impact on new mothers in the city to pursue their dreams event after delivering a baby.
In a first-of-it’s-kind panel discussion, InspirED Moms brought together women achievers, who are also mothers, from different professions. From entrepreneurs to school principals, and from life coaches to authors, the panel had them all. Mahima Poddar, The Kindness Project; Meghana Narayan, Slurrp Farm; Puja Puneet, Life By Design; Kavita Saraf, aLphabet School and Shvetha Jaishankar, model and author, were the speakers.
“I learnt three lessons in my life — I work hard to be happy; I love to win a hard-fought race, and I like people. Everyone that I work with give me great energy and I wanted to share that here,” said Meghana. The speakers shared the stories of their successes and challenges, and how they overcame them. Kavita said,” Step out, find happiness. Don’t be scared. There will be a lot of challenges, regardless of whether you’re at home or outside. So you might as well face it happily.”
The panel discussion was moderated by blogger Priyanka Acharya. After a Q&A session, the keynote speaker Sriya Reddy, actor, addressed the participants. It was followed by an activity moderated by Puja Puneet. “We want to encourage mothers to find their passion and dreams. Through InspirED Moms we want to provide them a platform for sharing parenting and entrepreneurial journey with others,”said Antara. Moina and Antara plan to conduct more such events.
