Accused creates fake profiles of men & posts them on gay websites

HYDERABAD: The Rachakonda Cyber Crime police arrested a 29-year-old Information Technology (IT) employee on Friday for harassing a reputed doctor and his friends by posting their pictures on a gay community portal.

According to police, on November 29, a reputed surgeon lodged a complaint with the police stating that someone had created fake profiles of him by attaching his real pictures copied from his Facebook account and posting the fake profile on various gay websites along with his personal phone number. Since then, his life became miserable as he was getting 40 to 50 calls a day from persons interested in him seeking appointments for meeting.

Based on the complaint, police registered cases and took up investigation.
