HYDERABAD: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Hyderabad unit,  which registered three different cases in connection with irregularities in post offices after demonetisation, have arrested four persons for their alleged role in the offence. During the raids, the CBI officials seized incriminating documents, laptops, mobile phones and cash to the tune of `17.2 lakh in new notes of`2000 denomination.
According to CBI officials, over the last few days, searches were carried out at 11 places on the residences and offices of the accused persons  in the city.

The arrested persons  -- Shaik Abdul Ghani, G Ravi Teja, K Suresh Kumar and G Srinivas were produced before the court and later remanded to  judicial custody.
The accused in a criminal conspiracy with private persons fraudulently exchanged new currency notes of `2000 denomination in lieu of old notes of `500 and `1000 denomination to the tune of `2.95 crore meant for disbursement to the general public. Cases were registered against K Sudheer Babu, senior superintendent of post office and others including G Revathi, G Ravi Teja, M. Govinda Rao, Syed Etheshamuddin,  K Suresh Kumar, P Sampath Kumar and several others.
