Kochi: SEIAA gives nod for Cancer Centre building work

SEIAA has given its nod for the construction of Cochin Cancer Research Centre building and for the preliminary works of the Rs 395-crore project.

KOCHI: The State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA), on Tuesday, has given its nod for the construction of Cochin Cancer Research Centre building and for the preliminary works of the Rs 395-crore project. It also gave its sanction to the new building that will be constructed as part of the development project of the Ernakulam Government Medical College.

The copy of the approval letter of both the projects was published on the official website of SEIAA- www.seiaakerala.org. The order issued in this regard will also be available at the office of the Department of Environment and Climate Change. the construction, as per the order, will be carried out at Block-6, Survey No: 321/1 under the Kanayannoor Taluk in Ernakulam district.

Meanwhile, the landscaping work of the Cancer Centre was launched last month. The preliminary works mainly include the survey and the landscaping and the relaying of roads to the project site.The landscape works will be completed at an estimated cost of Rs four crore.
