Kerala chapter of A P J Abdul Kalam International Foundation, established in 2015 in Rameswaram by the family members of the visionary former President, will be launched in Kerala soon.

KOCHI: Kerala chapter of A P J Abdul Kalam International Foundation, established in 2015 in Rameswaram by the family members of the visionary former President, will be launched in Kerala soon. 
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Dr A P J Naseema Mariyakar, A P J M J Sheikh Saleem and A P J Sheik Dawood, Trustees of the Foundation, and Dr K Abdul Ghani, Executive Board Member of the Foundation, said the activities of the Kerala chapter will be inaugurated by Dr A Sivathanupillai, founder and former CEO of BrahMos Aerospace in Kochi on August 11, 2018. 

The main objective of the Foundation with chapters across the world is to help materialise the former President’s Vision 2020 by primarily nurturing students. The Foundation has also chosen V Sunil Kumar, Managing Director, Asset Homes, as the Kerala Chapter’s chairman and Ansif Ashraf, Managing Director, CH Media Network, as its Secretary General. 

The trustees also said the inaugural day function will also witness the giving away of Abdul Kalam Changemaker Awards and the cover launch of Rameswaram, a collection of Dr Kalam’s unpublished writings. Run up to the Kerala chapter’s launch, the Kochi chapter’s office, known as House of Kalam Kerala, has already been started functioning at DD Jacob’s Mall on MG Road, Kochi.
