Special fever ward opened at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital

The Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital has geared up for treating fever patients by opening a special fever ward with all facilities.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital has geared up for treating fever patients by opening a special fever ward with all facilities. Apart from this, a fever clinic has also started. Ward number 22 at the hospital has been converted into a fever ward, equipped with mosquito nets and other facilities. It is for the first time a special fever ward is being set up in a medical college in the state after the start of the monsoon. 


As many as 40 patients could be admitted to the fever ward. Several doctors, including those from the Community Medicine Department, will be deployed at the clinic. The hospital authorities said all precautions have been taken to see fever does not spread. 


The decision to start the fever clinic was taken in the wake of the spread of fever and other epidemics. Those who have been confirmed with fever will only be admitted in the fever ward.
