VIJAYAWADA: The dissolution of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly gave more ammo to Chief Minister and TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu to fire fresh salvo on the Narendra Modi government. Condemning the dissolution of J&K Assembly, he minced no words and termed it “undemocratic and unconstitutional.”

“It has reflected the dictatorial attitude of the BJP government. It is nothing but punching holes in cooperative federalism. Irrespective of politics, all political parties, people’s associations, progressive thinkers and the entire nation should condemn the dissolution of J&K Assembly,” Naidu said, in a statement here on Thursday.

It was highly deplorable that J&K Governor Satya Pal Malik  did not respond to the claim made by PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti that she had enough support to form the government in the State. All the developments such as non-functioning of fax machine in Raj Bhavan and non-availability of the Governor had proved the interference of the BJP Central leadership in J&K affairs, Naidu said and observed that there were no signs of upholding the Constitutional values and dignity of Raj Bhavan in the entire episode. He said after withdrawing support to Mufti’s government in less than 26 months, the BJP government imposed Governor’s rule in J&K and now dissolved the Assembly in less than six months.Apart from misusing the Governor’s institution, the Centre is trying to disturb the administration of State governments through Governors, the Chief Minister said.

Stating that the entire nation is watching how the BJP, with the sole aim of getting power in various States, had ruined the democracy and values during the past four-and-a-half years, he said despite the Congress emerged as the single largest party in Goa, the BJP formed government and when it came to Karnataka the same BJP formed government on the pretext that it emerged as the single largest party. “Everyone knows, how BS Yeddyurappa failed to prove his majority in the Assembly,’’ Naidu said.

“Did we see any PM of India except Modi asking the RBI to hand over cash reserves to the government? Had we come across the top CBI officials making complaints against each other? The BJP leaders are damaging the reputation of RBI, CBI, CAG, ED and I-T,’’ he said and added that the saffron party should be ready to pay a heavy price for its “undemocratic” ways as the people are waiting to teach it a befitting lesson.
