HYDERABAD: The Election Commission of India has slapped a notice on TRS party leaders for “making personal allegations” and “using unparliamentary language” against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Mahakutami leaders.

Telangana Chief Electoral Officer Rajat Kumar served the notice on TRS general secretary Srinivas Reddy under provisions of Section 153 A and 505 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 125 of Representation of People Act and sought the party’s response within 48 hours.

If no reply is received within the prescribed time limit, it will be presumed that the pink party has nothing to say and action will be taken without any further communication with the party.

The notice stated that criticism of other political parties needs to be confined questioning their policies and programmes, past records and works. Parties and candidates should refrain from speaking about the private lives of leaders in no way concerning the public, it said.
