In his second outing with Kirik Party, director Rishab Shetty along with actor-producer Rakshit Shetty seems to be seeing everything, blending a great deal, improving without compromise and never hesitating to accept the outstretched hand of an idea. So, when the thought dawned of introducing a mute character who will be present in most frames and become an integral part of the film, Rishab’s inventive mind came up with a modified Contessa car.
“It is a youthful film and often, one of the first wishes of a teenager getting into college is to own a bike or a car. Likewise, in our film too, the Kirik Party team wants to own a car, but can’t afford it. Their intention to buy the car is to zoom around, have fun and impress girls. Since the boys gang wants to do something out of the box, they get into looking for a car, which can make heads turn. How they pool in money to buy a second hand car is a fun episode,” explains the director.
According to him, the car’s character becomes very strong as the film progresses. “It is not about just buying the car, but how they fall in love also makes this vehicle an important part of the film. The car even has a name, Kirik car,” he informs.
Apparently, the makers have left no stone unturned to create a buzz about the car. The Kirik Car has its own Twitter and Facebook account and even celebrities are taking a ride, with RJs making use of it for promotions.
Since, the film is all about college life, the team matched their sensibilities even while buying the car. “We fixed on a contessa for its long looks. Our line producer Pramod and executive producer Vinod took a month to search for the perfect car. Finally, we got a link through Dilip Raj, who is known for
altering cars and bikes and we purchased the car and modified it. Today we own the car,” says Rishab.

The makers are giving an opportunity to college students in Bengaluru and around Karnataka to click a selfie with the Kirik Car bearing the number 3636. The chance starts from today and the team has prepared a college list. Students who wish to have a selfie with the Kirik car can go to the page and fill in the details. Five best selfies will get an opportunity to watch the film with Rakshit Shetty and team on the first day, first show, while taking away some goodies.
