While Saad Khan brings Danish Sait and Sumukhi Suresh, popular figures from social media, to play lead roles in Humble Politician Nograj,  the director also has Roger Narayan and Sruthi Hariharan playing counterpoint roles in the film.

While we caught hold of a few pictures from the shooting locations, Saad Khan explains their importance in the political satire. “When you are making a full-length feature film, from a screenplay perspective, a single character cannot hold the audience,” he says.

“So when we have Humble Politician Nograj, doing what he does, we had to bring a voice of reason, which is played by Sruthi and Roger.”

Saad, who has also written the film’s songs along with Danish, has woven into the story of Humble Politician a lot of surprises and twists. According to the director, the movie is meant for the younger audience and will also touch upon all matters that bother Karnataka as a state.

“Today politics runs on agendas and no one cares about people,” says Saad. “Having said that, the film is not preachy... After watching the film, audience will agree that it makes a lot of sense.”

Work on the film is on track and a few portions with Sruthi and Roger have been completed, while their next schedule will start from May.

The film, which brings together Pushkar Mallikarjunaiah, Hemanth M Rao and Rakshit Shetty as producers, has Charan Raj’s  music and Karam Chawla’s cinematography.
