In Maanja, the actress is paired opposite Anish Tejeshwar.
One perception that is attached to Deepa that she would like to break is how she only prefers to work with established actors. But the two projects she has signed recently with upcoming stars say otherwise. “There is a misconception in the Kannada industry has about me. They think I prefer working only with stars. I have even heard from inside sources that filmmakers think twice before approaching me assuming that I will not work with newcomers. But that is not the case. I am open to fresh subjects and roles and working with a  new team,” says Deepa, adding, “Another mind block amoungst the filmmakers is that I quote a high price, which is unfortunate. The fact that I am not too social and people don’t get to communicate have made them assume a lot of wrong things about me. I hope to change their opinions,” she says.
