While there has been a lot of buzz surrounding Raajakumara, with the film breaking records on social media, the Bombe song remains to be the highlight. The track bears similarity with the song from Kasturi Nivasa. The song Aadisi nodu bidisi nodu urali hogudu, featuring Rajkumar and a doll, was one of the classics of all time. A similar doll has been placed in the track Bombe Eluthaite.. Bombe helutaite features Puneeth and the doll.

We were told that the team searched for a similar doll and could only find one in Tanjavur. “We looked for it in various places across Karnataka, but couldn’t find one. Finally our art director Shivakumar found the dolls in Tanjavur,” says Santhosh Ananddram.

Interestingly, the director didn’t have any reason to use the doll but then the decision was made instantly, says Santhosh. “It was not a calculated decision but was made during the making of the film. The characterisation is of a hero who believes that whatever be the ups and downs in life, we have to move on, so the doll became a symbol of that in the song and the film,” he says.

The director says he got emotional when he shot these scenes. “As an audience member and being a Kannadiga, I recalled watching Kasturi Nivasa. I even saw Puneeth’s excitement when he heard the song’s lyrics and the tune,” he says.

Three people who have won a contest on social media will take away these dolls as a prize.
With five days to go, director Santhosh thanked people of Karnataka for the number of records the film has created on social media even before its release. “The first trailer released crossed 1.5 million views in 13 days while the making video crossed 1 million views in 8 days,” he says. “Similarly Appu dance  song teaser crossed 8.25 lakh views in 2 days,” he says.

Raajakumara made under Hombale Films marks the debut of Priya Anand in Kannada with Sharatkumar playing a pivotal role in the film. The film has music by V Harikrishna and  cinematography by Venkatesh Anguraj.
