Blockbuster Tagaru's remake rights sold to director Muthaiah

The director is keen to rope in Karthi or Vijay Sethupathi in the Tamil version of the film.

Suri's directorial Tagaru, which was declared a block buster in Kannada, will now be remade in Tamil. The remake rights of the film have been sold to director Muthaiah. The deal was closed on Wednesday and Srikanth, who made his debut as producer with this film, was thrilled about this development.

Taking to Twitter he said, "Komban Director Muthaiah bought the Remake Rights f our Blockbuster movie TAGARU..Jai TAGARU..Mayella Pogaru (sic)."

The Shivarajkumar-starrer in the lead, released in March, and had a 100-day run. The film also gave a U-turn hero Dhananjay's career, a hero, who played the antagonist's role.

With an ensemble cast, Tagaru also featured Manvitha Harish, Bhavana and Vasishta Simha.

The film's story and style of making is what caught the attention of Tamil director, Muthaiah,we're told. Meanwhile, we also hear that Muthaiah will also be making his directorial debut in Kannada. He will helming a film for Shivarajkumar to be produced by Gnanvel Raju.

We'll have to wait and watch on who will play Shivarajkumar's role in the Tamil remake. Apparently, the director is keen on roping in Vijay Sethupathi or Karthi, either of whom, he feels will justify the character.
