Well, film buffs have another movie to toast the Kozhikodan flavour. Over 80 per cent of Jibu  Jacob’s Mohanlal-starrer Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol  was shot in Kozhikode.

Jibu Jacob, director, says they searched for a heavily-crowded housing colony all  over the state before deciding on Kesava Menon Nagar at  Bilathikkulam. “We wanted a place where there is full of life,” says Jibu Jacob.

Not just the place, a lot of people from the colony have also been part of  the movie. “The people of the colony were very cooperative. Most of them  have contributed to this movie in various ways,” said script writer  Sindhuraj.

Many were also actors in song sequence by Meena, who plays the character of Ulahannan’s wife.   Another place in Kozhikode where the movie was shot was the Chalappuram  Panchayat. However, in the movie, the panchayat has been named ‘Keezhattur   Panchayath’.

The family entertainer will hit the screens on December 22. “This movie  brings old fashioned romance back into the screen,” said the director Jibu Jacob.
