Mechanical engineers turn scriptwriters for Queen

A girl making a grand entry into an all-male mechanical engineering class! This is what drives Queen, a fun-filled college movie, directed by debutant director Dijo Jose, which will soon go on the floors.

And what’s the hook? Mechanical engineers themselves have turned scriptwriters and producers for the film, which will see a couple of new faces playing the lead roles.

The movie was inspired by a poster which was a massive hit amongst youngsters during Onam in 2015. A group of mechanical engineering students from Sree Budha Engineering College in Pattoor had put up an image on social media where a number of students riding bikes are trailing behind a girl in a red saree. “Though we had thought about this movie thread quite some time ago, we felt encouraged to do the film after seeing the popularity of the poster,” said Dijo.

The main focus will be on the ‘Mech Rani’, who comes to the class. Also, the movie focuses on the spirit of the mechanical engineering students who are different from students from other engineering streams.
The movie will also deal with friendships and personal lives. “There won’t be much romance. However, what we intend to do is to create a sense of nostalgia for engineering students, especially those who opted for mechanical,” says Dijo.

Queen will be produced by Rinu and Shibu K Moideen under the banner of Arabian Dreams Entertainments and the screenplay of the movie is by Jebin Joseph Antony and Sharis Mohammed.
